Additionally, some companies want team leaders or designated employees (ergo-team leaders) to function as the hub of the NetErgonomics® System. Our program was designed with over 15 years of research and development to provide those people with the tools and knowledge to keep your ergonomics program running smoothly. In the tradition of the continuous improvement process, our qualified ergonomic service providers will help your company get your program up and running with the following 4-phase or step model:
Phase I—Surveillance: This phase is characterized by passive collection of relevant organizational data (injury trend analysis, health surveys, human resource information, etc.) and active collection through methods such as observation of task activities and interviews utilizing video, digital photography and other measurement tools.
Phase II—Analysis of Data: In this phase, the data collected during surveillance is compiled into reports complete with risk prioritization, time lines and control measures. This will assist in gaining management commitment and support, as well as establishing a baseline for the metrics of success.
Phase III—Implementation of Controls (Fixes): During this phase the solutions recommended in Phase 2 are put in place (training interventions, workspace/tool design/redesign) with specific project timelines and strategies.
Phase IV—Evaluation/Reevaluation: After, the completion of the project an overall evaluation review and audit is conducted to determine whether you, as the client, has accomplished the desired destination of goals and objectives. Also, outcome tracking of injury and illness, productivity and efficiency data will occur on an mutually agreed upon interval (i.e., 90 days, 12 months, 2 years, etc.) during this final phase.

À La Carte Consultation/Design— Many aspects of workspace design and equipment selection can impact worker safety and productivity. Our nation-wide network of certified ergonomics professionals provides the knowledge and expertise to help you make the right choices the first time around.
The standard rate for a la carte work is $150/hr for analysis, research, and report writing.
Space planning, workstation layout and selection of lighting, furniture, seating and ergonomic products/accessories can all be challenging activities.
· What makes for good space planning?
· How should high-risk employees be accommodated in terms of comfort and ease-of-use?
· How should the workstation be organized for efficient work?
· What lighting reduces eye strain and has a lower cost of ownership?
· What are the best furniture and seating choices for your employees?
· What are the software compatibilities and warranty issues of ergonomic product and accessory solutions?
Making the wrong decisions the first time around may result in costly reorganization of the workspace or replacing of equipment. Making the right decision from the start can reduce long-term costs.
Worksite Job Task Analysis—This service provides your company with a comprehensive assessment of how the worker or sub group of workers interacts with specific jobs/tasks in terms of work postures, movement strategies, tools and the general work environment.
High degrees of risk are present in some jobs or tasks. Targeting these areas can provide a timely, focused approach to addressing the most problematic of ergonomic issues in a company. As mentioned previously, this approach utilizes a four-phase process to record, identify, address and validate solutions for ergonomic problems in the workplace. These four phases are identical to those used in the NetErgonomics® Repetitive Injury Prevention Training System previously described. The difference in this case is that the approach is applied to one or more specific jobs or job tasks rather than to the organization as a whole.
One-on-One Ergonomic Consultation and Evaluation—This service is targeted for high-risk or injured workers and is conducted on-site for the individual in his or her working environment. This is an important component of any thorough ergonomics program.
Individuals who work in high-risk jobs, who have active workers compensation claims, or who have prior history of cumulative trauma disorders are candidates for comprehensive ergonomic evaluations. This type of assessment provides in-depth analysis of ergonomic factors affecting the individual. When indicated, nationally-recognized risk analysis tools are utilized, and their results are included in any pertinent reports.
Before a worker is injured, it is often possible to avoid cumulative trauma disorders through training and recommendations that would help anybody involved in that job task. However, once an individual is injured, the situation demands more exacting solutions. These interventions may not be any more costly than for an uninjured worker, but the provision of controls and training needs to consider more precisely the characteristics, attributes and work practice of the injured worker.
